Teardrop owners tend to prioritize simplicity, traveling light, and spending more of their camping time outside. Teardrop campers are ideal for spontaneous weekend trips and quick getaways. Their simplicity means less setup, and their size means they are perfect for both developed campsites and more remote spots where larger RVs wouldn't fit. Traditional RV’s seek to replicate all of the comforts of home and are more suited for extended travel or full-time living, which might feel overkill for shorter trips. A teardrop camper is lightweight, with a quick easy-to-manage setup. It provides just enough comfort without the bulk, complexity and maintenance of a traditional RV, allowing you to focus on your adventures rather than the vehicle.

The All Good Equipment teardrop trailer starts at $25,000 plus options.
Material costs are what they are - especially for the good stuff. We don’t intend to compromise on quality in order to hit a price point, rather, we will use the best materials for the job and set the price accordingly.

My original trailer was designed to be towed by my ‘71 VW bus (which has about 65 horsepower). The prototypes have been happily towed by minivans, various older Toyota pickups, a Prius, a Tesla model 3, a Jeep Wrangler, a Subaru Impreza, a VW Golf, a Honda CRV… you get the picture. It’s light enough to be towed by pretty much anything, including modern EVs. When you get to camp, it is light enough for you to move it around by hand into the optimal position. We even squeezed it into my sister’s wedding venue to use as a bar! (See Pics)

We sell direct to the consumer. When you place an order, we’ll ask for a deposit and get your trailer into the production queue. You can pick it up at our facility in the SF Bay Area, or we can potentially arrange to ship it to you.
You can also come visit our San Carlos workshop every third Thursday, or by appointment. Just reach out!
-
Please reach out to us, to reserve your trailer now. At any given time, we are at different times in the build process, so it might be less than 1 month, to 3-6 months.
-
Step 1. When you’re ready, place a $1000 deposit (refundable) to get on the build schedule
Step 2. Plan your build: Here you can decide on any customizations or add-ons
Step 3. Commit. Here we ask for half of the remaining balance which we use to order your materials. Unfortunately we cannot offer refunds after this stage. Design freeze - any changes to your order after this date will potentially have a cost, but we’ll work with you for a fair deal.
Step 4. Delivery. The remaining balance is due. Pickup is in San Carlos, delivery can be arranged for a fee - (Dependent on shipping costs at the time of delivery)
(Shit happens clause - We’re nice people and understand that things happen. If you find yourself unable to take delivery for whatever reason, we will work with you to find the next buyer. Typically the best way to do this is to sell it to a lucky person already on our build list. The original purchaser will be responsible for any difference in price between their agreed upon amount and the final purchase price.) -
Yes, trailers can be financed through your bank, credit union, or other financing resources. We are working on finding a financing partner to streamline the process for our customers.
-
Yes, we offer a two-year warranty on All Good Equipment-made structure and components for the original owner. Third-party products, such as water pumps and tires, come with their own warranties.
-
Insurance is not required but is recommended. Liability may extend from your vehicle’s policy, but it’s best to cover the trailer itself.
-
We provide temporary registration, a bill of sale, tax documents, and a manufacturer’s certificate of origin (MSO). You will need to register your trailer with your local DMV.
-
It’s pretty simple, ensure your tow vehicle is ready, with a hitch, a 2” ball mount, and a functioning flat 4 pin trailer connector.
-
You can cancel your order for a 100% refund before we’ve ordered your materials. Once we’ve ordered materials for your build, any payments are non-refundable.
-
Yes, you can add accessories after purchase. However, some items like color, laminate, and suspension packages must be chosen at the time of ordering.
-
Pick-up day includes a 1-2 hour orientation to familiarize you with the trailer’s features. We’ll ensure everything is set up for your adventure.
-
Well, we haven’t shipped one yet, but we’re willing to learn. Reach out and we can discuss logistics.
-
Your vehicle must have a 4-pin flat connector and a hitch set up. The 4-pin connector powers essential trailer functions such as tail/running lights, stop lights, and turn signals. Ensure the wiring is fully operational before pick-up. The hitch should be spec’d so that the 2” ball sits between 14” and 16” from the ground - we’ll give you an exact measurement once you’ve decided what suspension setup you’d like on your trailer.
-
We offer brakes as an option. Our trailers are specifically designed to be light enough that brakes are not required. If you have a particularly small vehicle or plan to load up the trailer beyond 1500lbs you may want to add brakes. Keep in mind that you will need to upgrade your electrical connection to a 7-pin round connector and have a brake controller installed on your vehicle.
-
Yes, if you upgrade to a 7-pin connector it is possible to charge the trailer’s battery from your vehicle. You’ll need to have a mechanic to install a charge line in your vehicle. Results may vary depending on your alternator size.
-
The dry weight (unloaded) of our trailers is only 1,080 pounds, the tongue weight is around 110 lbs, so it’s likely your vehicle can tow it. Consult your vehicle’s manual for its towing capacity and tongue weight. Trailer brakes can also increase towing capacity for some vehicles.
-
At only 1080 lbs and up to 12” of ground clearance, not to mention its super compact footprint, you can bring the trailer along with you wherever you are willing to take your car. The trailer is designed specifically to handle most fire and BLM access roads. Rock crawling the Rubicon trail? Perhaps not (but send us pics if you do)
-
Sure! Our trailers are hand-built to order so we can accommodate many custom requests. Contact us to discuss possibilities.
-
Our trailers feature a standard sized Queen size mattress. If you can fit on one of those, you’re good.
-
The trailers are insulated in both the ceiling and the walls. We use raw sheep's wool because it has unique properties in handling moisture. In areas that are prone to condensation, sheep’s wool does a better job than styrofoam in managing ambient moisture as well as keeping water from collecting on surfaces within the internal structure. Additionally, it reduces waste during the manufacturing process and is 100% biodegradable.
-
The dry weight of the trailer is 1080 lbs. The tongue weight is 110 lbs and up depending on what is stored in the tongue box.
-
If you are so inclined, I wholly encourage you to build your own trailer. I found the design and build process so rewarding that I quit my day job and started this company! With that said, we don’t offer plans or kits because the skill level and attention to detail required to assemble one of our trailers is more than most people are willing to take on for a diy project.
-
An All Good Teardrop will fit into any spot you could fit a mid-sized car.
-
Yup, totally. Our personal trailer left the garage the moment it was finished 8 years ago and hasn’t been inside since. Our trailers are watertight and are built to withstand long-term exposure to the elements. Keep in mind, however, that it will be tougher to maintain its shiny finish if left out in the open.
-
Other than keeping your trailer tidy, we recommend annual maintenance for average use, though more frequent use may require semi-annual maintenance.
Grease hub bearings, suspension components, coupler, and jacks.
Check your tire pressure and assess wear.
Performing suspension re-alignment if tire wear indicates an issue.
Other long term maintenance may involve replacing tires, batteries and seals.
-
Our trailers are lockable. Both cabin doors lock with a deadbolt, the windows latch from inside, and both the hatch and tongue box lock at the handle. Additionally, you can use a tongue lock for use when the trailer is not attached to your vehicle to prevent it from being able to be hooked up to another car.

On flat, smooth surfaces, the trailer can easily be maneuvered by one person. For uneven or sloped ground, two people are typically needed.
-
Nope, bring your favorite bedding that will fit a queen size mattress. Flannel sheets are amazing for late fall to early spring camping.
-
Each trailer comes with a folding adjustable All Good Table. It doesn’t mount to the trailer, rather it is free standing so it can go anywhere. You can adjust the height to use it as an extension of the kitchen counter, a coffee table by the fire, or anything in between. It stores in its own cubby built into the floor underneath the mattress.
